Description:

Located on the border of Allegany and Steuben counties, just west of Hornell between Route 17 and Route 21, in the Finger Lakes region. The Kanakadea recreation facilities at Almond Lake includes picnicing, camping and boating.  You can also go fishing, hiking and view wildlife here.

Campers and hikers can also visit the nearby Bully Hill and Klipnocky State Forests which are west of Almond and the Southern Tier Expressway.  The Finger Lakes Trail passes thru this hardwood forest.  Take a scenic ride thru upstate New York's vineyard region.
