Western New York Outdoors
A Parks and Recreation Guide to locations for outdoor adventures in WNY.

Klipnocky
State Forest in the Town of Almond, Allegany County.

Klipnocky Marble Forest Road

Description:

Wilderness campers and hikers will enjoy the vast acreage of Klipnocky State Forest which is west of Almond and north of the Southern Tier Expressway (I-86).  The Finger Lakes Trail passes thru this hardwood forest, it is well marked with white paint.  These forest roads and truck trails are unpaved and subject to the elements.  I highly recommend a four wheel drive vehicle to make it thru these narrow, rocky, hilly and often muddy roads.

There are a couple ponds near Bill Morris Forest Road.  A beautiful place to camp, fish, hike or hunt.  In the winter time the access gates are closed and these access roads make excellent snowmobile trails.  Arkport is about 10 miles east of here.
